Peace Pole dedication at St. Charles Church in Kettering

On April 22, 2008, the parish of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Kettering installed a Peace Pole at the entrance to the church on Ackerman Boulevard.
It had been made a few years ago by a student as a requirement for his Eagle Scout Award and through the efforts of our Social Justice Commission it was
finally installed and dedicated. The entire student body of St. Charles School attended the dedication. Associate Pastor Father Ron Haft led the ceremonies.
A proclamation from the City of Kettering was read by councilman Tony Klepacz, a member of the parish. The Pole displays the words, "May Peace Prevail on the Earth"
in four languages: English, Spanish, Hebrew and Swahili. A prayer for peace stands next to it in its own shaft.
