"Peace Symbols, Artistic Interpretive Painting"

Students from Springboro High School are sharing their art with the Dayton International Peace Museum this summer.  The exhibit, Peace Symbol: Artistic Interpretive Paintings, opened with a reception May 11 in the Peace Museum Annex and will run through the summer.

Forty students in Springboro art teacher Debora Blind’s studio art courses chose a specific artist (for example, Andy Warhol or Paul Cézanne) or artistic movement (like Surrealism) to interpret through painting.  Students incorporated peace symbols into each famous work and chose a peace quote to accompany their paintings.  The exhibit also includes forty student drawings and sketches created from the phrase “May peace prevail on Earth.”
